Is GXCG political?

Simple answer: NO.

Is GXCG just about Bull Lane?

No. Establishing GXCG has taken considerable time and effort, and our purpose goes far beyond any single application. We have created GXCG to ensure that a dedicated, well‑organised group is in place and ready to respond to all current and future challenges affecting the Green Belt, our environment, and the wider landscape around Gerrards Cross.

Why is GXCG a company?

GXCG, the Gerrards Cross Conservation Group Limited, is a non-profit company limited by guarantee, registration number: 17195750.  Because the company is limited by guarantee it has no shareholders, it cannot pay dividends, etc.  We are constituted as a company so that we can have legal standing in environmental matters.  We plan to register with the Charity Commission soon.

What are your objectives?

As of May 2026, our formal Objects are still in draft form, however, they are likely to be:

  • The objects of the charity are the following purposes for the public benefit in respect of the area within a 3 mile radius of Gerrards Cross railway station located in the county of Buckinghamshire, England (“the Locality”).
  • to promote and endeavour to secure the preservation, protection of conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment within the Locality, particularly of (i) green spaces, (ii) conservation areas, (iii) asset of community value, (iv) other assets that contribute to the general character and ambience of the Locality; and/or
  • to promote and endeavour to secure high standards of design, architecture, construction and planning for buildings, additions and developments in or affecting the Locality; and/or
  • to promote and endeavour to secure high standards of maintenance and improvement of the buildings, trees, fabric, infrastructure, public amenities, streetscape and environment in or affecting the Locality; and/or
  • to promote the advancement of education of the public concerning the special architectural and historic interest and character of the Locality; and/or
  • such other charitable purposes consistent with the above as the charity trustees in their absolute discretion determine from time to time.
What happens to any donation that are left over?

GXCG only uses its funds to advance its stated objectives. If any donations remain after a specific campaign or challenge, they are securely held on deposit and reserved for future needs. This ensures that GXCG is always ready and properly resourced to respond to the next challenge facing our community and to continue protecting the Green Belt and our local environment.
